National Register

This is a National Register of Pounds and Pinfolds in England, by county, and is a work in progress. Entries will be made as I visit the site or receive confirmation of the location and condition preferably with a current photograph. Any background information or history is always appreciated and contributors of photographs will be acknowledged.

Although each and every site of a pound or pinfold is of historical significance I have decided to exclude from this register sites that do not have at least the outline of the pinfold or a significant part of the structure still observable.

Interpretive Notes:

Location: Current English administative County names and boundaries are used.
Condition: This is designated as Complete (all walls intact though not necessarily at original height), Disrepair (some fallen walls), Derelict (outline structure only), Adapted (walls used for another purpose) or Incomplete (walls missing).
